These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Breakfast .... hrumph.

I pretty much hate breakfast.

Well, I hate weekday breakfast. Weekend breakfast is OK.

There is nothing that appeals to me, that requires minimal time prep, and with little cleanup.

Arghhhhh.

    1. I have toast and [fill in the blank] most mornings. I have oatmeal several times a week. I try to vary my diet because breakfast is so boring! Oh well.

  2. I've become used to Uncle Sams cereal with blue berries and almond milk. I divide up the big bag of blueberries into 1/2 cup portions in snack size bags. I put the berries over the dry cereal and microwave for a minute to thaw them before I pour over the unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It all only take a few minutes, give me a full tummy, and a good amount of fiber. Something us old ladys need!

Wonderful? Probably not, but it does the job and I can get on with my day.

    1. I do a similar mix with various cereals and coconut milk or yogurt. Even that gets old. I'm just a difficult breakfaster!

  3. I always have great expectations that I will make an eggs and bacon breakfast during the week but then the morning comes. I never have time because I prefer to sleep until the last possible moment. I usually have instant oatmeal or buttered cinnamon toast.

    1. That's me, too. Seems like a better idea at 10:00 pm than at 7:00 am!!

  4. From LC:

My mother believed that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" and thoroughly indoctrinated me that it is a necessary part of being alive. That was fortunate, because I married a guy whose favorite meal is breakfast. Of course, we both also like every other meal, snacks . . okay, we really like to eat!

That little dog does indeed have cute and innocent perfected.

    1. LC, I believe that, too, but I still find it the most difficult meal to enjoy and find pleasing foods. Sighhh.

      And Lola .... oh yeah!

  5. I can't leave the house without eating and don't like to make a mess in the morning. Usually I have granola mixed with either yogurt or applesauce. Sometimes I will make a smoothie or protein drink in my single serve blender. And occasionally on weekends I will make some gluten free waffles. I rarely make eggs at home, I save that for the occasional restaurant visit.

  6. Humans, like cats, need breakfast for energy! Get some cans of Ultra-Slim Fast, put 'em in the fridge, and has a quick and tasty (Chocolate Royal is grand for a chocoholic like me) breakfast.

    1. As above, those are yummy, but just don't hold me. I'd have to have 3 before lunch to stave off hunger! sighhh. I'm a mess, I tell y, just a mess!

  7. My weekday breakfast: 2 Nutrigrain Eggo waffles, spread with cream cheese and a little marmalade or jam. A nice handheld sandwich to eat on the drive down the mountain.

    1. That is probably closer to a working solution for me. Waffles stick with me. Thanks!
