These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

My Status

What I've done:
  • cleaned the inside of the car, vacuumed and Febreez'd it, organized everything, even organized the maps.
  • the trip maps and other travel aides are tucked in the door pocket for easy access.
  • filled the gas tank
  • had the car serviced, oil changed, lubed, tires checked.
  • ordered and picked up prescriptions for myself and the dogs.
  • trimmed the dogs and took them to the vet for nail clipping and ear cleaning, having Ali cleared to travel following his recent surgery.
  • packed clothes.
  • packed linens except the specific ones I'm using.
  • forwarded mail.
  • changed address on magazine subscriptions.
  • packed dogs food, beds and toys.
  • arranged for the house to be thoroughly cleaned after I leave.
  • arranged for several guys to help me pack the trailer on Thursday.
  • changed/stopped utilities and services.
  • had dinner with most of my list and arranged to get together with others on my return (when I come back to close on the house and/or move furniture).
  • got the sturage unit packed, packed, packed.
  • reserved UHaul trailer.
  • have almost everything packed and ready to go.
  • at least a dozen other things that escape my mind at this tired moment.

What I haven't done:
  • bathe the dogs so I can stand being in the car with them for several days.
  • finish two small improvement tasks.
  • run several last minute errands.
  • finish packing. (keep in mind that I'll probably be wrapping the last item as I pull out of the driveway!!!)

I think I'll make it. Possibly even with my brain still attached to the brain stem. Stay tuned!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
