These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Almost Halfway Home

Today's drive went better, by far, than I expected. We are back to the town I stayed in on my way to KC. This puts us almost halfway home, just 75 miles short of that mark. We should be able to make it to my home before dark tomorrow.

The truck is doing well. It takes a little time to get up to speed, but once there, it rolls along better than one would expect. The hills slow us a little, but our trip has gone almost as quickly as I experienced on the way out.

I'm tired, but not terribly. The muscle soreness is less that I expected. I guess the "Aspercreme wallow" and Tylenol I took last night did the trick! I can feel some stress, especially in my back, but it isn't bad enough to worry about.

Just think ... tomorrow I will be home with all my furniture. Home. That really sounds good.

Good night, y'all!!

  3. Nothing ever feels better after you have been away than a shower in your own shower and your bed and pillow...........

Glad that you had a nice trip, but there certainly is no place like home.

    Drive safe...
Might still be a good idea to use the aspercreme until the soreness in your back goes away...
