These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

It was a productive day. We moved almost all of my things to the new house. There are some things still at his house because mine isn't ready for me to stay just yet. I'll move the rest in a few days, but for now, these are the things I need on a daily basis and need to be with me. And we picked up some items that I purchased some time back, an antique carved wood room divider with mirrors on one side, a couple small tables (one tile topped and the other painted, both in vivid Southwest colors), a cabinet that I am converting to a dry bar, and a stained glass sun catcher. I'll have to pick up one more piece from another store in a few days. It was exciting to actually bring the items home, at last.

We also got the hallway and 3/4 of the living room painted. We applied the Kilz and the first coat of paint. The room looks, already, much larger, and the hallway doesn't close in on you when you walk down it. Tomorrow we'll do the last wall and put on a second coat of paint.

Have you ever noticed that when you are doing a big job such as this, you and go and go but when you slow down, all the sudden you realize how stiff and sore you actually are? We talked about being tired, but not until we drove back to Allan's, did either of us go, "Grooooaaaaaan."
I've already taken a muscle relaxer, and I'll have another before I go to bed, with hopes that they will give me ability to rest tonight. Tomorrow will be another busy, busy day. I expect that by Monday, I may begin staying there. it will be good to stay home ... HOME.

Something happened today that proves that the Universe listens, even when we don't know we are talking or asking. I got a phone call from a friend who has been very helpful on several occasions. He offered to help in what ever way he could. I asked if he could help with the move, particularly the driving, and he thinks he can. He also mentioned that he is a qualified semi driver, and that if he can find a rental, we could move everything in one vehicle. I almost cried! I've been stewing about how I was going to manage a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer, my pickup loaded and possible a trailer behind me, too. This could be a great godsend.

I was also concerned because my #1 driver was having trouble getting time off work, and he was supposed to call me several days ago, and I still hadn't heard. About two hours after talking to the above person, #1 driver called saying that he isn't able to be off work until probably in April. And already, a substitute had been provided! Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Once again, life is good. I'm happy. I wish I could share this joy with every one of you.

  2. Yeayyyy, Lynilu ! Not only on how nice it is that you are so close to staying at your new home, and that you already have some nice new things for it, that the paint color turned out great in opening up the hallway, that you knew to use a muscle relaxer to help you sleep, and that your friend knows how to drive a semi and is willing to help you get everything there easily !!!
Definitely shring your joy with you on all of that ! You visualized/created and it IS manifesting !
Have a great Sunday and a wonderful week ahead --

  3. I am so happy everything is going great! Moving is a love/ hate relationship. You love the idea of moving into a new home but hate all the work it takes to move.

Cholla is a very interesting cacti. Fortunately Surely Not has not encountered anything but sand burs. I can't wait to go to New Mexico and Arizona but we are heading back to Missouri in April (dental work and selling mom's house). I don't know when we will get there but we will.

    Great Posts. Don't over do.

  4. I am so happy that things are moving along. I can only imagine how excited you are. When are you signing all the paperwork for the house?

Hope you were able to rest last night and that you don't overdue it.

  5. Kmae - I'm not sure what "too much" is!! Some days it is way different than others, but I don't usually over do. LOL! Sore muscles? Sure, because I'm working those which I haven't for a while, but I've learned to quit without self-recrimination.

Annie - Isn't visualization/creation a marvelous thing? empowering and freeing. I would hate to be undertaking all this without the faith that it will be. Thanks for the cheers!

Pepper - Boy, you got thatlove/hate thing right! After the last 2 years, though, this part seems like a snoozer! Sand burrs are boogers, too, but I don't think we have those at my place. Another one that I really dislike is goat-heads! Those were my bane as a barefooted child. I'm going to have to clear some thistles from my back yard, and I hope that is the worst of it. Stay safe on your travels and don't forget to let me know when you are Westward bound again!

Caroline - Still no date on the legal signing. Trying to coordinate it all is a headache, but it shouldn't be much longer. I'm resting well; I'm not being brave about it! I take a muscle relaxer at night because I've awakened those sets of muscles that I used so much in KC, and they are protesting the interruption of their nap! No, I'm not so brave that I'm "toughing it out." I'm sore, but not so much that I can't do the next day. It is going well. Thanks for the concern.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
