These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

End of the Weekend

Scott fixed dinner this evening. He did stir fry, and it was scrumptious. He made three kinds of chicken: one had a white wine sauce, one had almonds and sesame seeds, the last was mildly spicy and so yummy! Well, they were all yummy. He also fixed lo mien and mixed vegetables. Absolutely wonderful meal! Tomorrow I'm buying some salmon, and he is going to grill it. I love salmon, and it is a new favorite for Kylee, so we will all be happy.

It is still very humid at 10:30. It actually got warm enough today that we were all scratching our heads over it. It is November, for goodness sakes! The air has cooled this evening, and it is really a nice night. It has cooled to 65 degrees, but that is probably higher than the average daytime high at this time of the year. Can we say together ... "m.u.g.g.y"? I've actually turned on the box fan in my room so I can get some sleep. It isn't quite cool enough yet, so I thought I'd blog till it is better.

What a lazy day! We didn't do anything! That's OK by me. Connie and Kylee had some studying to do, and Connie had papers to grade, too. (in the picture, she is actually working. She is grading papers. I won't mention that the Oprah shows for last week were being played on the DVR. No, we'll just say she was working!!)

Most of all I just didn't feel like going out. Actually, I was too lazy to get dressed! Great Sunday!! I read a ton today, and we talked and just enjoyed doing whatever.

Kylee and her friend raked leaves into a pile, then got a sheet and put over the pile so they wouldn't get dirty, and sprawled out there playing games on their DSs for an an hour or so.

Look at this. Kylee is a little more than a year older than her friend! Either the kids were moving or I was! But you can still see the incredible size difference.

I wanted to take a picture to show the difference in size of the dogs, but every time I pointed the camera at Ali, he took off!! Millie is in the foreground.

I swear, that dog!! He was sneaking a nap in Millie's bed, but he was running from the camera every time I picked it up! I don't get it!!

China was happy to pose for me, however, and that is Millie behind her.

And finally some leaves on the tree in the front yard. I'll actually probably have some of these leaves in the bed of my truck when I leave here.

Yep, it was a good day!

Life is beautiful!!!

  2. Daisy - Aren't they? My truck is backed up under the tree, and everytime I go out, I say "Oouuu!" Yep, it was a good, lazy day. The best kind!

  3. I love that last picture of the tree. Very cool.

I loved seeing pictures of the family and what you guys did yesterday. Kylee and her friend looked like they were having a great time in the leaves. I can't believe how petite she is.

  4. What a gorgeous day...inventive children to "make their own bed and lie in it"!! and what a difference in their height!! What do they feed that boy?!? I'm smiling because both mine are/were like that!!
Dinner sounded so good, reading and relaxing is essential to a "good" day.

  5. Caroline - Thanks! About Kylee ... she is 11 and wears a size 8. Yeah, petite, to say the least! And since she started school early, she is also a year ahead of most kids her age, so it is exagerated. Her friend is nearly as tall as me and he is just 10!!!

Sherry - We were enjoying watching them. They are really good friends, and when they are together, they are so creative! And, yes, he is a "healthy" boy!!!

  8. Patti - It seems there has been erratic weather in several areas. Interestingly, at home, it looks like it has been pretty stable and mild! So, of course I'm not there!! LOL!

She is adorable, if I do say so. I'm very proud of all my grandkids, as they are all beautiful and smart. I know, I'm biased, but it is also true.

Bradley - There are not too many foods I don't like!!

We thought the same thing about the choice of activities they came up with! Kids and their imaginations!! Love it!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
