These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

One Mo' Time

A short post. I'm tired and, I've actually had an uneventful day.

Last night before I went to bed, I found this .....

My Ali loves to curl up on my clothes. If there is one item of clothing on the bed or if I drop something on the floor, he finds it. After I came home yesterday, I tossed my clothes on the bed and went about my business. a little later, I found this ... asleep on the bed and curled up where he could smell my scent. It was so cute that I had to take a snap of it. I am so touched when I find him like this. I guess there is security in knowing that he is close to me, and I'm glad that he is able to find that comfort.

On a less personal note, a man who shot a county deputy last week was found today. He had abandoned a stolen car in Ruidoso Downs, the part of the town that is farthest away from me. I came home from my trip to hear that he was still out there somewhere. Not exactly comforting, even though he was last seen about 20 miles from my home. I've been somewhat vigilant, but not even close to "paranoid" about it. It is good to know that he isn't a threat now. Here is the odd thing ... he was found by the FBI and local deputies today (riding a bicycle some 40-50 miles away from Ruidoso), and he fired a gun at the deputy!! A bicycle??? Anyway, he is now dead. He was wanted in the State of Washington for identity theft. Interesting that he would go from that to shooting a deputy. At any rate, I can relax, now that he is not a possible threat.

And now, I'm headed to bed with great hopes of sleep, deep, deep sleep. Please, sleep!! I'm SO tired.

MaƱana, y'all!!

  1. Maybe knowing this guy was out there somewhere is why you were having trouble sleeping. I hope you got a good nights sleep last night.

  2. I hope you get the sleep you need.

You never know what people they do or how desperate they feel they are. Always good to be vigilant especially when you live solo.

  3. May you sleep as deeply and comfortably as Ali. Maybe you should try sleeping on top of your discarded clothing....

    Hugs,
    Betty

  4. Daisy, well, I still woke last night. I did, however, manage to bet back to sleep in less than an hour. Better, but not fixed, yet. yawnnnn.

Patti, yeah, I am usually fairly vigilant. I was hyper-vigilant in KC. I'm so happy that my home is in such a low crime area. That incident is extremely rare. It is the first one of significance since I got here almost 18 months ago.

Betty, LOL!! I'll try that tonight! I'll take them away from Ali and see if it helps!!!

  8. Kathi, it seems that everyone I've talked to is having sleep problems. What the heck is going on?

Caroline, the last few days have been busy, and I haven't had time to take a nap, but things are winding down now. Maybe that will help in itself. I'm already in bed, and I'm going to turn off the computer and the lights very soon.

  11. Jenster, yeah, I wasn't extremely worried, but a bad guy off the streets is never to be poo-pooed.

Sherry, I'm glad he finds comfort in my scent. As I write this (3/28 @ 7:00 pm) he is on the bed...on top of a shirt I wore today!!

    Me, too!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
