These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Silent Saturday

OK, OK, "Silent Saturday was just an excuse for not saying that more "green comics" showed up!! sighhh.

And as long as I'm at it here is one that has nothing to do with Earth Day/Week. It simply cracked me up !!!!

Now I gotta get in the shower, then go to the Gallery for last minute prep for the big auction tonight. It's gonna be a long, long day. BTW, we collected donations of art and services totaling over $25,000 for the auction .... not bad for a little community in a county that has a total population of just about 21,000, huh?

Wish us luck!!

  1. Have fun at the gallery tonight. And try not to let the turkeys get you down.

  2. Hope everything went well last night. That is awesome that you collected that much artwork.

I think it's so cool that you have started this whole new career for you. I think you were happy as a social worker, but it seems like you are working now for fun not for need.

  3. Daisy, it was a fun time! I'll post about it, probably tomorrow, Monday.

Caroline, it did go well. Not as lucrative as we'd hoped, but not bad.

Me, too! When I think about it, I'm usually surprised about what I've done. Pleasantly surprised!

  4. Curious as to what kind of artwork would be offered in a silent auction such as this. Hopefully, you'll touch on this in your next blog.

They have a big art fair each summer in Ann Arbor and I'm amazed at what passes for art these days. And how much these artists charge for it. I did but buy a watercolor there once--a field of flowers with a dark lake and trees in the background. Very pastoral.

  5. Dave, hmmmm. OK, I'll do a post tomorrow (Mon) about it. I understand what you mean about "what passes for art." Even in the Gallery, I somethings wonder! It's just a matter of taste, I guess. More later!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
