These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Oh you know how I feel about this. So sad. I am so sorry Lyn. I wish y'all would get a good soaking rain.
ReplyDeleteWe saw a bunch of deer coming home from dance class last night and I thought of the critters in your neck of the woods.
oh, Patti, I wish for rain, too. Dang, I wish it would ease up. this morning, they said it is again 30% contained. Not enough, but better than yesterday's 0%. And the deer .... :)
ReplyDeletedidn't i hear they arrested three campers? two men and a woman- left their campfire unattended.
ReplyDeletesounds like a horrible, stupid, wrong choice. but at least not deliberate. no solace, i know. the destruction is painful.
Cameo, I'm not sure about the detains. I heard that, but I thought it was a fire elsewhere. I'll pay more attention to the news tonight.
ReplyDeleteCameo, the recent arrests were related to the Malibu fire in November. The Trigo fire is still raging, although partially controlled now, and there has not be any investigation possible yet.
ReplyDeleteHaving had a teenage "thug" down the street play with gasoline & matches on Monday which caused no damage to property as such (destroyed cable underground so no phone, internet or cable for over 24 hours while they repaired), I can feel a little closer to home how quickly fire spreads and how destructive it is. This was contained to one backyard..but 12,000 acres is a desecration.
ReplyDeleteSherry, you made me think of something with your comment .... The fire (which is largely under control at this time[fingers crossed]) burned about 14,000 acres. That is roughly 22 square miles. Now think about an area that size in your city, 4 miles by 5 miles or 20 square miles, blackened, smoldering, former occupants displaced, uninhabitable. Isn't that frightening? Yeah, we all need to be careful and thoughtful.
