Yesterday Da Boss was doing some spring cleaning at his house. I had walked to his house to talk with him about a couple things, and when I got there he was really cleaning! He had a stack of books, probably forty or fifty of them, and he said to take any I wanted because the rest were going to the library. I picked out around fifteen or so to bring home. So I've got a lot of reading to do! After that I'll pass them on the the library myself. Works for everyone!
Then on the way home, I was taken aback by how beautiful the skies were. And you know me .... I stopped and took a few pictures. this first one was to the southeast.
To the west was this sight, the White Mountain range, Sierra Blanca the tallest peak with snow. Yes, fresh snow!! The rain I'm getting at 7200 ft. (just off the right of this picture), is snow at 12,000 ft.! How cool is that, snow in May?!
Here is Nogal Peak. there is a range of hills between here and there, but I live just to the left of the peak.
Today we are getting more rain today, at times hard and heavy, others just showers. It is pretty windy and gusty, only 45 degrees here at my house, and my guess is that there is more snow on the mountain. I wonder if they are considering reopening the ski slopes? I'm sure not, because tomorrow is supposed to be 77 degrees! Land of Enchantment! That's where I live, for sure!!!
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
Hi Lynilu, these are some of the most wonderful photos - that top one especially. I just clicked on it and stared at it for a long time remembering my time in New Mexico and Arizona and wide open spaces and blue skies.
ReplyDeleteLately my time has been in Hawaii where normally we have wide open spaces of water and blue skies but lately we have vog (vog = volcanic smoke).
This has not been a typical situation but leaves me desiring a big blue sky like you have. Appreciate it, I know I appreciate the picture.
Goodlife.
Robert, as you know, I'm very happy to be here. My heart is at greater peace than in any period for a long, long time. It is still a daily occurrence that I look at my surroundings and just marvel, thanking the creator for my homecoming.
ReplyDeleteGoodlife.
Oh my. You live in such a beautiful place. Those clouds! The mountains! The sky! You take such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann, thank you. Yes, I do, and I love every moment of living here!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what it's like to live in a place like that! It does seem that you've found home, because you truly appreciate the natural wonder surrounding you.
ReplyDeleteWow! How inspiring!
Hugs,
Betty
Yes, Betty, it can happen to YOU!!! :D I feel like I'm talking to little Virginia, telling her that Santa Claus is real, but Believe!!! I think how we view our future influences how that future will evolve. So .... BELIEVE!!
ReplyDeleteI could not be happier anywhere else. Of that, I am sure. Hugs back, dear girl!
Hi Lynilu,
ReplyDeleteI never knew you lived in a portrait. Wow, I wish I could paint as each is spectacular.
Be Safe,
Reach
AWESOME scenery.
ReplyDeleteReach, I'll tell you ... there is no place more beautiful that where I live. Now, I'll admit there are places AS beautiful (or almost!), but none better. It's not called the Land of Enchantment for nuttin'!!
ReplyDeleteBut thanks! Yes, I love it here!
Daisy, thanks! I'm lovin' it, as you know!
Yay for books, never seen a butte!
ReplyDeleteBut, Miss Patti, you just looked at several in those pictures, dear!!
ReplyDeleteSoooo happy for your rain. What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Such enchanting pics!
Catherine, we were thrilled with the rain! It wasn't nearly enough, of course, to change the danger, but every little bit is appreciated, and things have greened up nicely. Thanks!!
