These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

I'm Off

I'm battling with a serious bout of fibromyalgia. Usually when it grabs me, I'm out of commission for one to three days. This one is now over a week in length and showing no sign of easing up. Today, I've completely given up fighting it. I'm just vegging out, back and froth from the couch to the bed and back again.

I haven't slept well. Not only is the aching waking me, but the stress that is rampant for us all right now is stacking up on top of that and making it hard to rest. Last night I decided to assure myself of a good night's sleep. I have a mild muscle relaxer that I was given to ease the muscles and help me sleep. I haven't taken one in quite a while. It helped me sleep.

This morning, I couldn't wake up! I got up to put the dogs out, but I was so groggy I crawled back into bed where I dozed off and on for another two and a half hours. Since then I've just sat around or laid around without the incentive to do diddly-squat. I'm just one giant slug.

My head is not working well. I have been pulling this together, the words you see here, for over an hour. Over an hour! Obviously all the synapses are not firing as they should to form thoughts into words into sentences. So I'm going to take off some time from the blog until I can return to my witty self. It will probably be just a day or two. Sunday Funnies, Monday Movies and Tuesday Trivia are already set up, so you won't even miss me!

Later!

  1. I hope you feel better very, very soon!!! I love the pictures on your previous post - especially the color accented photos. I've been sort of but not seriously trying to figure out how to do that with either my camera or my photoshop. I know they're both capable. Maybe I should be a bit more serious with it.

  3. Hope you feel better soon. I'm thinking it'll make it hard to take care of the brood there if you're achy and stuff. Who'll take care of you!

  4. I hope you feel better soon. I am curious about fibromyalgia. Did it take long for the doctors to diagnose it? What does the pain feel like: aching, sharp? Do you have "clues" that it will be coming on (I get migraines and I have noticed all sorts of physical symptoms which happen before the migraine.)

    Just wondering!

  5. Jen I'm feeling a little better today (Sunday). Thanks for the well wishes. :)

I had not used that feature of my camera before, and it was so simple that I was embarrassed that I hadn't looked into it. I look forward to experimenting more with it. Sadly the summer flora is fading very fast now, so I will have to find other targets till next year. And Photoshop .... I'm still flumoxed by that program. I need to just take a couple days and experiment with it. Ahhh, perhaps I should just make that my task for a couple days while I'm "down" with the FMS.

Red, I'll bet you can relate to this condition. Thanks for the empathy. Same back to you. :)

Dave, the gang is relatively low care. They do a lot of snuggling with me which is nice for all of us, and other than feeding them, I don't have much upkeep. One day I hope to have someone around to lean on, but for now, I just muddle through!

(M)ary, to answer your questions would be a little lengthy. If you don't mind emailing me at lynilu@yahoo.com, I will try to answer your questions. Are you thinking you may have FMS or something similar?

  6. I am sorry that you are not feeling well. If you lived closer I would take you to Kokopelli's for dinner. Somehow Kokopelli's makes everything better. :)

Call if you need to talk.

  10. I'm late to my blog reading, so hopefully you are feeling great by now. Sometimes it's a good idea to just veg anyway - recharge the old motor.

  11. Julie, it seems that my ickiness is fading with each day. I feel almost normal (whatever that is!!) today. I agree, a veg-out is a good thing. Thanks. :)
