These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Limiting me to one favorite is just cruel! But I’ll try to make is as short as I can. I never have been a shower singer.

Same answer as above, but the name would be Scott.

29. What's in your pocket right now?
Oh, no!!! I have no pockets!!!

30. Last thing that made you laugh?
I watched America’s Funniest Home Videos Sunday night, as I do every week, and I always just crack up! More recently, but with less out loud laughing, I’ve laughed at the dogs' antics several times today. Jazi was tearing through the house like she had a tiger on her tail just a while ago. The three boys were standing and watching like they couldn’t figure it out, until the temptation got the best of them and it became a free-for-all with all four of them running from one end of the house to the other!

31. Best bed sheets as a child?
I’m so old we didn’t have “theme” sheets, but I had some blue and yellow stripes that matched my room, and I loved those.

32. Worst injury?
Hmmmm. Well, it would have to be one of three auto accidents. At 19 I cracked an elbow and broke my collar bone. At 20, I hit a telephone pole and split my upper lip wide open, knocked all my teeth loose and two out and bruised ribs; when I was rear-ended and had a whiplash injury that plagued me for years, even slightly today. What do you think? Accident #2? Probably. Oh, or the severe ankle sprain which left me on crutches for about 6 weeks, and my ankle didn't look normal for almost 18 months.

33. Do you love where you live?
Ohhhhh, yesssssss!

Four, bedroom, living room, guest room and office.

Linda!!! It’s a known fact, even by her!! Even her mother tells her she is too loud!

36. How many dogs?
Uh, five. ahem.

37. Does someone have a crush on you?
Not that I know of. I thought The Guy might, but that’s another blog.

38. What is your favorite book?
How does one answer with a/one favorite book?? One is Love in the Driest Season, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Notebook, Truman, John Adams, Lies My Teacher Told Me, etc., etc., etc. I have a new favorite every time I read a book! Just too many!!!

39. What is your favorite candy?
I don’t have a favorite. I eat different ones as the mood strikes, but I must say I don’t know that there has been a day that I’ve ever turned down a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

40. Favorite sports team?
I’ve been a die hard fan of the KC Chiefs for over 30 years. I sat in the stands freezing my butt off in the 80s with just 25,000 or so other idiots when they were losing their tails, but I have to say that I’m really weary of their lackluster performances over and over and over and over. Also I no longer get to watch them unless they play the Broncos or the Cowboys, the two teams favored in this area. I’m just about to look for a new team to root for.

41. What song do you want sung at your funeral?
I’ve already given my kids some instructions with lists of songs and poetry to choose from. One on the list is “Amazing Grace.” Another “Beyond the Sunset.” Both were sung an my grandmother’s funeral and at both my parents’, so why break the tradition? One of the poems on the list is “When I’m an old woman, I will wear purple and a hat that doesn’t match,” because that is the kind of goofball I am! But the most important thing is that I don’t want a sad, drawn out funeral. I’ve told my kids to do whatever they feel they need to do (after all, funerals and memorials are for the living), then go somewhere fun and eat and drink and dance and sing and tell stories about all the goofy things I did in my life. Celebrate my life, find the best memories available and move on!!

That's it! Feel free to take it to your blog!

I, too, love Lies My Teacher Told Me and came across it a few years ago from another blogger mentioning it.

  4. Jen, LOL! Don't be too impressed! The second one was pretty wimpy!! I'll always be a Chiefs fan, but since I never get to see them play, it is frustrating.

MQ, I was surprised that I made it to the second one!

Kathi, it was an undertaking, for sure, but I liked all the questions so I decided to charge forth! That book is eye-opening, isn't it? It took me forever to get through it because I kept going back and rereading out of disbelief! But I think the author was/is right on! Sadly.

  5. I absolutely LOVE your answers!! Good for you on the pushups (lol). I LOVE your middle name (our Sydney's middle name is Faith, but we toyed with Grace. Both have such joy about them!). And I love the idea of your funeral. It needs to be a party!

And I feel your pain for the KC Chiefs. But really...the Cowboys aren't evil...you can come to our side any ole time.

    That was fun to read!!

  6. Cheryl, before moving to KC in 1975, I had been a Cowboys fan for many years. I know you are a loyal Cowboys fan, so let me see how much you know about their history. I know you are too young to *remember* this, but .... did you hear of Ralph Neely who played for the Cowboys from 1965 to 1977? He graduated a year ahead of me from the same high school in Farmington, NM. I started watching pro-football because of him. It was a lot of fun watching someone I actually knew play.... and play for the Cowboys who were actually at the top of the league most of the time back then!
