These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

PS to earlier post (below) -

I have to brag a bit about the good friends I have. Since dinner ran late, a few people had to dash off shortly after dinner to be home to tend livestock before dark. So they took off to do what they must. Annmarie went home to do the tasks and her husband stayed behind to help me. While I cleaned, prepared for storage, put away, scraped, rinsed and loaded everything, Ricky cut all the ham and turkey, divided it out for everyone to have some to have at home. It went to quickly with his help, and I'm so thankful he stayed. Then we got into the truck with the "take out" and drove to meet Annmarie halfway. She and Ricky will see that everyone gets their goody bag.

Linda said to keep her share here and she would come back today to get it and help with any other tasks. Lucky for her there is nothing left to do. Then she called this morning saying that she would be by around noon, and that she is going to make lunch for me to thank me for my hard work yesterday. I said that everything is here and she doesn't need to make anything. She countered that I am ordered to sit and rest while she fixes a recipe for leftover Thanksgiving food! OK, Linda, OK!!

My friends are the best!

I have to admit that I was very tired last night. After everyone left I curled up on the couch and watched a movie. When I got up from the couch, I could barely move. My legs felt as if they weighed 100 lbs. each, and my feet were full of pins and needles. Then I realized I had been on my feet almost all day. I sat down occasionally for a bit, but from about 7:00 till dinner, then again for the cleanup after dinner, I was upright on my little tootsies. I was a little worried about how I was going to feel this morning, but I had a good rest and woke pleasantly refreshed .... and with all parts working!
Happy Black Friday to you fools who are out there giving blood to our ailing economy! I'm home, curled up on the couch in sweatpants and a sweater, cup of coffee in hand, watching Mork & Mindy!! Ahhhhh ....

.... Life is beautiful!!!!

  1. It really makes me happy that you have such great friends to spend the holidays with. And how great that Linda is coming over today to make you lunch. Be sure to share what she makes for you.

No shopping for me. I don't remember a year when I have been as poor as I am this year. Oh well...I am really happy so that makes up for the lack of $$. :)

  2. Nice to have such caring friends. I wouldn't line up at 5 am for a sale if they were giving it away free. Poor Walmart employee trampled to death by anxious shoppers. Whats the world coming to ?

Now you relax for the rest of the weekend.

  3. Caroline, I am very happy with my friends. I'll share the lunch later, OK?

I have never like shopping on this day, so it is no loss. And I'm with you on the lack of money! Sheesh!

Ruth, it's not only the 5 am thing .... it is the whole rush-rush attitude about the day. And trust me, I'm having a good weekend!

  4. Mork and Mindy? I'm so jealous! Glad you had such a nice day.

  5. Sphincter, I'd forgotten how funny the early Robin Williams was! I love him in later roles, too, but that show is just so fun!

  6. I was one of those fools helping the economy :)

  7. Well, Patti, it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
