A few weeks ago I took a small plastic container out of my truck. It has been in there forever, and I wasn't sure what all was in it. I knew it had miscellaneous items that I needed occasionally when I traveled, but wasn't sure of quite what. There was a small coin purse that I knew had a little cash in it, figured probably $6 or $8. It was what I kept for use when I rented an audio book from Cracker Barrel during a trip. I hadn't used it in almost two years.
Last night I decided to clean it out and see if anything needs to go back in the truck. So I combed through the collection of binoculars, a Swiss Army Knife, a Swiss Tool Kit, reading glasses (I haven't worn my contacts to need those in over four years!!), business cards from the dealership I used in KC (again over 4 years ago), etc. What a mess. I have a card from Shell Oil, apparently for savings, and I don't even remember getting it or using it! I have receipts pertaining to a gift card from Cracker Barrel, and I can't tell if I have a balance on it. And the coin purse had $32.74!! Now that is a fun find!!
Today I'll put the binoculars, the Swiss items, etc., back in the car. You never know when you might need them. I'll drop by a Shell station and see what the card is for. Next time I'm near a Cracker Barrel, I'll check out the balance associated with the card. Most fun of all is figuring out what to do with the $32.74!!
Let's see .....
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
