These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

I'm nearly ready for my little trip to Lubbock. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning and returning Friday evening. The trip will be a fast one, but it will give me a chance to hugs my sister and brother-in-law, and to let them know I'm thinking of them and will be able to make the trip more often. I know this move has not been easy for them (second long distance move in 2.5 years), but I hear from my nephew that they are doing pretty well with it. Anyway, it will be good to spend a little time and see for myself that they are well.

I'll be reading through tonight, but I'm not taking the laptop with me. I haven't even asked if my nephew's home has wifi. For such a fast trip, I think I can't do without it. I think I can!!! Besides, I want to take as much time as possible to talk and get reacquainted with my great neices and nephews. So not having the laptop is probably a good thing for this little trip.

Soooo .... I'll be talking with y'all again in about 48 hours. Give or take. I hope you give more than you take. ;)

  1. Not taking the laptop??? To me that would be like me not taking my toothbrush.

    Have fun and drive safely.

  4. Caroline, I know it is pretty much unthinkable, but with it being such a fast trip and so much to do while I'm there, it just seemed like the better choice. Gasp. Am I becoming un-nerdy? NOOOOOOOOO!!I will be careful, thanks!

Patti, I can't imagine life without it, but I think I can probably manage one night! ;)

Bobbie, yep, family first. It will be good for all of us. :)
