Arghhhhhh!
I was replacing another 2x4 railing on the deck today, and it was going well. Until I got to the 4x4 upright. When I took the 2x4s off the top of it, I found it was rotted!! Now I have to go buy a 4x4 to finish. I've checked the other uprights, and they all seem to be alright. I certainly hope so.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????????????
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
No wood ants or termites I hope?

Sorry Lyn..Murphy's Law!
ReplyDeleteDi, nope, just weathering and rot. I thought of that, too, but it is just the top of the post, not farther down. Whew!
ReplyDeleteMoni, you said it! I just said to Linda a while ago that I wish I could get through one task without one of those surprises. I thought I'd looked at everything before I started the disassembly. I guess I haven't developed a man's sense of where to look. sigh. Guess I still need a man around, eh? giggle!
My motto...every project has a problem and every problem leads to multiple projects.
ReplyDeleteHey Lyn, if you run into a cute little alien in Roswell, just bring him home and strap a tool belt on him, lol
