These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

  1. I'm betting you will have the time of your life, if anyone can you can. Now you have something to look forward to and that's half of any trip.

  2. Is there any room in your luggage for a hitchiker? S1 could probably give you ideas where to visit. I'm so happy for you! :D -s3-

  3. You are going to love Hawaii!!!! Having been there 5x I wish I could give you some travel tips, but the last time I was there was in 1992 and I don't remember that much. Hey, you could always call my Mom since she has been there every year since 1985. I am sure she would love to talk with you and vice versa. LOL.

  4. Linda, you KNOW I will! And my friend has lived there for many years, knows his way around and has lots of fun things planned!

S3, of course, if you can wrap yourself into a suitcase, I'll take you along! I'm sure S1 could, but it has been a while since he was there. My friend lives on the Big Island, and he knows his way around, as well. I'm SO looking forward to this!

Caroline, I can picture your mom's face if I called her!! LOL! as tempting as it is, I think I'd better pass!

  5. Which island are you visiting? We visited Oahu and it was amazing, so much to see and do. I hope your friend is feeling up to lots of sightseeing. We were there 10 days and still didn't feel like we had seen it all. You will love it.

  6. My friend lives on the Big Island, Hawaii. I don't know if he has plant to go to some of the others, and I doubt it will matter. I know it will be soooooo much fun!

  9. Di, I don't know. I know he does not have wireless, so I wasn't planning to take the laptop, and I'm wary about downloading pix to someone else's computer, because of possible bugs. I will if I can, but if not, you KNOW you'll get a ton when I'm back!

Betty, thanks, it is very exciting! I finally made the reservations, now I have to wait almost TWO MONTHS!! Torture!

  10. That sounds so exciting, particularly if, like myself, you've never been. Hopefully your pictures will look like those you've put up here. Heck, probably the clouds are even prettier there(in some respects anyway).

  11. I hope you have a wonderful time in Hawaii!! That is so exciting. I have a friend who was born and raised there and she misses it so much as she is in Florida now! She says she would love to go back there to live permanently.

  12. Dave, I had to laugh at your caveat, a wise one, about comparing the beauty of the clouds to the gorgeous ones here at home! This is my first trip to Hawaii, and I can't wait to fill the memory cards of my camera!! So excited! I have 2- 2 GB and 2 256 MB. Do ya think I should have more? ;D

Lisa, I've had friends and a nephew who lived in Hawaii, and all speak fondly .... except for those who lived in the area of Honolulu, and only because of the expense. I can hardly wait! When I'm back with pix, tell your friend to check the blog, cause I'll post a bunch.

  13. Two months will seem like forever Lyn! What a fun trip to look forward to. My children have visited many times and love the way you don't need a screen on your home, no snakes either, even with all that lush greenery. Visiting is always fun but I worked with a girl whose husband was stationed on the big island and she said she like to went nuts driving around and around, lol - she couldn't drive off the island!!

Mary, it is going to be fun to write about it! I know it will be fun!

Freda, thank you! I am excited!

Merikay, the anticipation is good! Yes, I think it makes the trip itself that much better!
