Friday morning, I'm going to the thrift shop for training. It cancelled last week because of a change of schedules. This is just three hours, and I'm free again for the weekend. Thank goodness.
On Tuesday a friend is flying home from California, so three of us will pick her up and spend the day doing our shopping and eating, then home in the evening. I'm looking forward to it. I'm almost out of some of my treasured, carefully rationed items from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.
It will be good to be back on a more relaxed pace.
I'm so far behind on reading blogs and FB. I've been trying to keep up as well as I can, but I've only skimmed much of it. I don't know if it makes sense to try to read everything, but I'm going to do my best. If I don't make it around to everyone, please overlook it this time. It's been hectic.
When I got home today from minding Linda's shop, the new sound system was on the deck. I put it together and checked everything out .... IT WORKS!!!!!! I've tried all modes, and everything works just great. I'm SO relieved! This helps me know what I'm going to be doing in the next few days .... watching some of the DVD backup in my house! BTW, I was a smart cookie, if I do say so. I disconnected the old base, hooked the new one to the speakers that were already in place, and put batteries in the remote. I decided that I was not going to take down all the old speakers if I didn't have to, especially since the speakers didn't seem to be part of the problem. It worked. Thank goodness I don't have to re-hand speakers or re-tuck wires.
I am still ticked at the FedEx folks, however. I'm going to try to talk to a person tomorrow. Yes, I live in the boonies, but the UPS guy gets here, rain/snow/fog/sunshine, so why can't this dude? Well, I'll get an answer one way or another. The nerve.
I've packaged the old system and I'll be dropping it off by the end of the week. I'm glad it has worked out. At last!
Today as I drove into town, the sky was totally blue with the exception of this one cloud hanging over the Capitan Range.

The clouds blustered up a smidgeon of rain droplets, but nothing serious. It dampened the ground, but that's about all. Ya just never know.
Gotta move on and read a few more posts, and then it is off to bed. Talk with you all soon.

I can't help but love the clouds here. I always have. they are just different than I've seen anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI suppose everyone gets behind from time to time. I enjoy reading everyone's blogs, and I feel like I'm missing something if I don't get around! But I 'spect when I'm more rested I will feel less stressed about it.
Forget the blogs Lyn. Slow down and take it easy. I've got 10 years on you and I know it doesn't get any easier. Sometimes you need to schedule "rest" days!

The clouds there are indeed very interesting, and lovely to watch I'm sure. Everybody needs to take a break from time to time. Try as hard as we can it is almost impossible to keep an even flow of activities.

ReplyDeleteDave, in a word .... AWESOME!! The are almost no "city lights" to interfere, and the starry sky is breathtaking. The only place I've seen better is in the middle of the ocean.
Linda, you said a mouthful. As I said, even on days that I don't think I have anything, something comes up.
Lyn, I feel your pain. My life is wayyy busier than I like. We just arrived home from the Adirondacks and tomorrow I'm off again to Pennsylvania to visit with some of my family.

Fly into ABQ, I'll pick you up, we'll hit Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, come back down here and kick back! I'd even let Jake come along, so long as he promises to keep the testosterone level low. Oh, wait. He can have testosterone if he will help me with a couple projects.
