These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Loooon week, short weekend

I just realized I will have my fifth blogging anniversary in May. Wow, it doesn't seem like it has been that long, and yet I almost can't remember when I didn't blog! I'll have to do a special post at that time.

I'm so glad this week is about over. Gee, I think I said that last week, too. Nothing is wrong, but it has been busy to the point of exhaustion at work, and in some ways, here at home, too. My week isn't really over, because there is a fundraiser tomorrow night. That will be "work," but mostly fun.

Tomorrow morning I will go to help Allan and the gang to finish up his packing and loading. I'll run to get lunch for everyone, then around 2:00, leave so I can get showered and ready for the evening. It's gonna be a very busy day.

I think I'm still in denial about Allan moving away. I'm happy for him about several aspects of the move, but I will really miss him. He is torn, too. He will be going back to see old friends, having quality time with his mom, and finishing his education. But like me, his heart is here in NM. As for me, I will be living without family within a short distance for the first time in my life. Ahhh, well. Such is the cycle of life.

I've been having terrible static on my phone line, and the guy got out here today to fix it. Thank goodness!!! No static, and I have brand new line leading into the house. He also replaced three jacks because they were old and questionable. I'm so glad to have it all working right again. And now, when I move the desktop computer, I know the jack will be a good one.

While he was here working, I got a lot done toward the switching of rooms. Most of the loose items are off the shelves and in totes. I moved most of the totes and the bookshelves to the deck to make room for moving the larger pieces. I also called a young friend, my house sitter, to come over and help me  moving the awkward and heavy pieces. He was at a track meet, and his mom said she would have him call me. I don't know when he can come, but hopefully it will be before "carpet day" next Friday. It would be nice to have the furniture in those rooms moved so I can be putting things away while the rest of the house is carpeted. We'll see how it goes.

Other than that, things are same ol', same ol'. The wind is still howling. the temperatures are dropping severely this weekend with days in the upper 40s and nights around 30. I'm hoping that by Sunday I can stretch out on the couch and veg out. Well, unless Wonder Boy can come help me move furniture. that shouldn't take long, so I should still be able to do that vegging most of the day.

Whatever! Right not I'm going to veg for the rest of the evening. Bye, y'all!

  3. Your weekend seems to be busy but fun and you will love it when you get stuff moved around and in place. Don't lift too much.

  4. Rosaria, not mine!!! I'd be happy to never move furniture again!! But sometimes, you just have to do these things.

Merikay, yep! I'm taking it easy and that's why I'm getting help for the bigger things.

Moni, I will like it when it is done. I just hate the interim!!

  5. Hey, you deserve a break. Maybe you should take a night on the town with BIG check you recently got! (but 6 cents doesn't really buy what it used to buy!)

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
