These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Helluva day.

As I finished showering, the hot water knob decided to not work. It spun freely, so I couldn’t turn off the water. Ran to get tools, wrapped in a towel, and finally got it back in place. Forgot to shave my legs, and I was now out of time.

Put on a skirt, then realized my legs were exposed and hairy.(And I really mean “hairy” because in the winter, I shave maybe every 2-3 weeks. Maybe.) Started over with slacks.

Driving in, a deer came running down a hill, obviously going to be immediately in front of my truck. I wasn’t going fast, but I couldn’t have missed her. Just before the shoulder of the road she began changing her direction, but against the momentum of the downhill run, she ended up making a wide u-turn just 6-8 feet from the truck and headed back up the hill!

Got to the office, began to fix a cup of coffee, and when I shook the creamer, the cap wasn’t on tight, so I had creamer all over the front of my rich purple top. Ran to the restroom and ran water over it quickly, as the fabric is one that stains easily. Cleaned up the creamer on the floor. Back to my office where I closed my office door, removed the dripping wet shirt, draped it over a chair and turned a space heater on it. Called the client at whose house I was due by this time and explained I’d be a few minutes late.

Shirt dry enough to go, I went out and got in the car with a coworker and noticed that the white creamer was down the leg of my black slacks, too! Argh! Ran back inside and sloshed enough water on the pant leg to minimize the messy look.

At the client’s home we had a crisis. I can’t give details because of privacy, but what is usually about an hour long turned into more than two hours, and it was just a huge mess. Finally got that worked out, after calling the next client to let them know we would be late. As we drove along, my coworker said, “Geez, I could use a drink!” I had to agree.

Back at the office, things went fairly smoothly except for the fact that a coworker who was involved was very upset about the mix-up. She felt every one was blaming her for it, and nothing we said soothed her. No one was blaming her, it was just a bad situation and she was unfortunately in the hub of it all. I know she felt  terrible stress, and I wish our efforts to calm her would have been successful. She’s a great girl, doing a very tough job and is just adjusting to it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Then, at 2:30 my phone reminded me that I had a 3:00 appointment that I’d forgotten about! I made it there, barely.

What did I accomplish in the office today?  Damn little!!

Breathe, breathe. Tomorrow we get to start all over again.

  4. Sometimes the best thing we can do is just breathe.

At least two or three times an hour.

    :-)

Tomorrow's another day. (or is it today.)

  8. Oh dear yes, we all know days like that. I think the creamer over my top would have annoyed me most... but there is a rich choice of things to be annoyed at! I hope your days since posting have been better :)
