These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

New (or is it Old?) Kit on the Block

Well, well, now! This morning I discovered something. I'm actually feeding TWO cats, apparently! I started to go to the deck to return something out there, and a cat ran from the food dish, and it wasn't LJWFSWSBHML! I think it was the cat I photographed last spring. Not sure, 'cause he was fast on the fly. I just hope they aren't rivals. I don't mind feeding them both, but I don't want them fighting for the food. Thinking of one of them being hurt ... well, that just won't do.

Speaking of LJWFSWSBHML, I recently thought of Popeye for a name! There is a bit of humor to go along with that. You know how the cartoon character has that deep gravelly voice? Well, this "Popeye" has just the opposite! He is one of those cats with a tiny, high pitched meow! LOL! Popeye, indeed! Still thinking! I KNOW, Caroline! Wilson is still in there!

  1. Those kitties came to the right place, knowing you will take care of them! Wilson reminds me of... a volley ball! LOL

  4. I can't count the number of boxes with blankets and bowls of food and water I've put out over the years. Never cared how many came, just can't stand the thought of animals cold and hungry with nowhere to go.
    I like you. :)
So glad you're feeling better and back with us.

  5. Patti, I'd always take care of them, you're right. I just listened to a case of extreme animal torture and I'm just sick. I don't get how a person can hurt an animal on purpose. shudder.

    A volleyball????? LOL!!!

Caroline, Huh? What? I can't hear you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walker, tee hee! Yes, he's a squeaker!, I try to keep food in the dish at all times so there shouldn't be a problem.

Kathi, I hear you on that. I have fixed a little shelter, but it isn't permanent. I'm hoping that if it gets really cold, they'll use it until I can fix a real "home base" for them.

Thanks, I like you back! :)

It feels good to be almost normal again!

  6. So what you're saying is that you've got Popeye and Olive Oyl camping out around the homestead....next they'll have Swee Pea with them...just as long as they don't bring Wimpey -- he'll eat the food and offer to pay you on Tuesday....he's tried that trick before -- don't fall for it!!!! :)

Then again, I think (but I'm not sure now, don't hold me to this...) Caroline has a thing for Wilson -- so you could have Wilson-Philips on your hands -- they'd make beautiful music!! (as long as neither one is in heat!!).

(I think now you understand why I need a hiatus!!!) LOL!!

  7. LOL with gusto, Sherry, at this! OH, what a scenario!! Now the Wilson Phillips thing is interesting, but I have to admit ... I'm a fan of the parents of the group I'm assuming you're referring to!! Aieee yii yii, it's painful to admit my age!!

I'm cracking up here! I don't think yo need a hiatus! You're just on a wild, creative roll!!! Go Sherry! Go Sherry! Go Sherry!

    :D

  8. You're gonna have an entire family of cats in a little while! I think the kitties are telling eachother about, "This nice lady who leaves really great grub!" :-)

Good thing it's not stray kids, huh? LOL

  9. Dawn, you may be right! But that's OK, if they car be nourished and happy for their little lives, then I'm happy, too.

Stray kids? Well, I had those for many years, a couple of which still hang around and even read this blog! But my stray kids, aren't exactly kids anymore!!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
